Sul sito www.makeityourrace.it si sono aperte il 1° marzo le iscrizioni alla edizione 2012 di "Make it your race", il primo talent show di livello internazionale dedicato agli aspiranti piloti dai 18 ai 40 anni. Il suo scenario è la pista, il suo profumo l'odore di benzina, la sua cifra l'adrenalina. 105 piloti non professionisti, provenienti da tutta Europa, si sfidano per l'obiettivo finale: scendere in pista su una Abarth 500 Assetto Corse in una vera gara del Trofeo Abarth 500, insieme ai piloti professionisti. In genere il vincitore è il pilota più veloce. Questa volta sarà il migliore.
L'iniziativa è in perfetta sintonia con la tradizione dello Scorpione che, fin dalla sua fondazione ad opera di Karl Abarth, promuove la "democratizzazione delle corse".

Ad oggi sono state raccolte oltre 10.000 pre-iscrizioni provenienti dai 6 Paesi coinvolti nel progetto - Italia, Germania, UK, Francia, Svizzera e Belgio - grazie anche a un video teaser che su Youtube ha raccolto circa 600.000 visualizzazioni. Numeri che preannunciano un'edizione di successo così come si è dimostrata quella del 2011 che ha coinvolto più di 5000 giovani offrendo la possibilità a 20 di loro di realizzare il sogno di una vita: quello di correre in una vera competizione con una vera auto da corsa. Del resto, alla base della "Make it your race" vi è il concetto che ""Non la velocità, non il brivido. Il vostro obiettivo è il sogno».

Al talent possono concorrere tutti i piloti non professionisti (perciò privi di licenza) di età compresa tra i 18 e i 40 anni e residenti tra Italia, Germania, UK, Francia, Svizzera e Belgio. La selezione avverrà attraverso il sito web makeityourrace.it e i canali Youtube, Facebook e Twitter. Tra tutti gli aspiranti piloti iscritti, 105 di loro verranno selezionati e parteciperanno a una speciale esperienza di guida presso l'Abarth Driving Academy. I 24 migliori, in rappresentanza dei 6 Paesi, parteciperanno a un Boot Camp, dove vivranno tutti insieme per una settimana l'esperienza del team e metteranno alla prova le loro capacità affrontando ogni giorno sfide di ogni genere.

Dopo un'ulteriore selezione, un corso di guida racing preparerà i migliori ad affrontare l'adrenalina della pista, garantendo la massima sicurezza attraverso una formazione professionale, tecnica e pratica. Questa ultima fase decreterà i 6 finalisti, i migliori, che avranno la possibilità di scendere in pista su una Abarth 500 "Assetto Corse" insieme ai piloti professionisti, nella prova del Trofeo Abarth sul circuito di Franciacorta il 24 giugno 2012. Quello che otterrà il miglior piazzamento assoluto avrà un'auto tutta per sé oltre alla possibilità di correre ancora una volta su una Abarth 500 Assetto Corse.

"Make it your race 2012": enrolment for the Abarth talent show for aspiring drivers has begun

Enrolment for the 2012 edition of "Make it your race", the first international talent show for aspiring drivers aged from 18 to 40, started at www.makeityourrace.it on 1 March. The scene is the track, the atmosphere the smell of petrol, its hallmark adrenaline. 105 amateur drivers from across Europe will be challenging each other to win the ultimate award: competing at the wheel of an Abarth 500 "Assetto Corse" in a real Trofeo Abarth 500 race alongside the pros. Usually, the race is to the swift. This time, the race is to the best.
The initiative is perfectly in tune with the tradition of the Scorpion marque, which has promoted the "democratisation of racing" ever since it was founded by Karl Abarth.

To date, over 10,000 pre-enrolments have been collected in the six countries involved in the project - Italy, Germany, the UK, France, Switzerland and Belgium - following a video teaser which was watched nearly 600,000 times on YouTube. These numbers suggest that this edition will be as successful as the one in 2011, which involved over 5000 young people and made the dream of a lifetime to come true for 20 of them: that of competing in a real race at the wheel of a real race car. After all, the underlying concept of "Make it your race" is "Not speed, not thrills. Your goal is the dream".

All amateur (and therefore unlicensed) drivers aged between 18 and 40 and resident in Italy, Germany, the UK, France, Switzerland or Belgium are eligible to take part. Selection will take place via the makeityourrace.it website and the YouTube, Facebook and Twitter channels. From the aspiring drivers who sign up, 105 will be selected to take part in a special driving experience at the Abarth Driving Academy. The 24 best, representing the six countries, will take part in a boot camp, where they will live out a team experience for a week and put their abilities to the test, facing all kinds of challenges every day.

After a further selection process, a race driving course will prepare the best to face the adrenaline rush of the track, ensuring the utmost safety through professional, technical and practical training. This stage will narrow the competition down to six finalists, the best, who will be able to take to the track in an Abarth 500 "Assetto Corse" together with professional drivers, in the Trofeo Abarth test on the Franciacorta circuit, on 24 June 2012. The driver who achieves the best overall place will have a car all to themselves in addition to the possibility of racing in an Abarth 500 Assetto Corse again.
